About SIFIL

Symbiosis Institute of Foreign & Indian Languages (SIFIL)

SIFIL was established in the year 2000. It is a premier institute of Symbiosis that caters exclusively to the Foreign & Indian Languages requirements of Indian & International students studying in India. It offers Basic, Intermediate and Advanced level certificate courses in several Foreign and Indian languages : 

Chinese

Hindi

Spanish

Arabic

French

Russian

Urdu

German

Japanese

Marathi

Korean

Persian

Sanskrit

Its courses are allied with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

 Infrastructure :

SIFIL is housed in a smart campus of over 2500 sq. meters, having 21 spacious AV classrooms, 100-seat AC Auditorium, 3 Digital Language Labs, a well-equipped Library, 2 AC audio-visual Conference Rooms, a cafeteria, ATM, Photocopy Booth and a Primary Health Centre.

SIFIL is a department of the Symbiosis International (Deemed University) [SIU], re-accredited with “A” grade by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council).

SIFIL conducts several co-curricular activities for students to practice language in real-life situation :

Skits, Quizzes, Projects, Gala Learning Workshop, Industrial Visit, Elocution Competition, Spelling Bee Competition, Cookery Competition, Movie Club, Saturday Speakers’ Club, Readers’ Circle, Foreign language over coffee are some of the activities. 

SIFIL also provides Career Guidance Service and Personal Counselling.

SIFIL also offers customised training programmes in Foreign Languages for International and Indian Corporate professionals. It provides translation & interpretation services as well.
